Bursaries

Unipal is offering bursaries to people volunteering with local organisations in the West Bank, Gaza or Lebanon.

Applications are invited for five bursaries with the following terms of reference. Five bursaries of £500 will be awarded.

Any project for which funding is sought should:

  • involve work in a refugee camp or with Palestinians from a disadvantaged group
  • have aims which are compatible with those of Unipal
  • be of at least 6 weeks duration

Applicants must:

  • have previous experience of working, volunteering or studying in the West Bank, Gaza or Lebanon
  • have evidence that their placement with a local partner organisation has been arranged
  • be able to identify success criteria in relation to outcomes for Palestinian children/young people
  • be prepared to abide by the requirements of the Unipal code of conduct whilst on their placement
  • be over the age of 20
  • be prepared to attend an interview

Applications from previous Unipal volunteers will be particularly welcome. Candidates should send an application on not more than two sides of A4 setting out their aims, describing their project and specifying how it meets the requirements set out above.
